As I stated in the first blog after getting here, I was back and so were the bull gnats. I thought they were not as bad as they were the very first time we met. I didn’t realize they are so so much worse this time.
I’m not sure how it all happened but a day or so ago I was working mostly inside and I went out for a little while to clean the filter I keep on top of my water catchment. I wanted to be ready for the rain that was forecasted.
When I came back in I was itching really bad all over my head and face. It seems these gnats got in under everything I was using for protection. They got into my beard, crawled through to skin and proceeded to munch away. At some point I was bit near my eye which is why I have a puffy eye courtesy of the bull gnats. They did all this without me realizing they were there.
So this time, they have created much havoc for me and my well-being being in one afternoon than the whole time I was here before. Of course, they only came out once before when I was here, but they were much much worse than they are now. Then I didn’t get very many bites, but they’ve gotten their revenge this time. By biting me so many times, I have bites all over the place, so I guess this is their gift to me, maybe because I staying away so long.
