I was finally able to start building my “Small House in the Woods” in June of last year and my brothers’ combination of Dodge pickup with Cummins Diesel engine and trailer with the Can-Am Defender is the best package yet. The diesel pickup gets the Defender as close as possible on regular roads, but when it’s necessary to go off-road the Defender is very capable.
I’ve taken 60-pound bags of concrete, tools, water, and wheelbarrow into the woods in the bed of the Defender. Although I’ve been through muddy wet areas in the defender carrying heavy loads I haven’t had to use the 4-wheel drive at all.
After all the concrete was mixed and poured I hooked a 10 ft trailer loaded with oversized floor joists and generator to the Defender and easily pulled everything into the woods to continue working on the “Small House.”
When you gotta get yourself and your tools to the woods this is the package to get it done!
