For the past 40 years or so, each time I’ve come back home to Alabama, I come back to the place of my birth. I still cannot say exactly why other than it’s my place of birth. Maybe there’s some kind of magnetic force that pulls me back, or this place is hallowed ground, maybe this really is the home that my soul connects with. Whatever it is, I’m somehow drawn to this place. Most time I come here, I look at the house, reminisce, walk the area, then leave, as there isn’t much else to do there.
