Each morning, as I sit here in the doorway eating my breakfast I’m always amazed at how long I can sit here and just watch the trees. The way the wind blows through them and move the tops bach an forth, the birds flying from one tree to the other. From time to time I can see a few leaves slowly fall to the ground as a slight breeze blow them here and there.
I could do this all day. I have to remind myself, though, that I have work to do. It’s not mandatory as this is work on the house, my house. I could actually sit here all day and watch the trees and feel perfectly fine with it. I’m here to work, so I only spend a few hours sitting here. Sometimes, I don’t like to admit to being able to sit for a couple hours just looking around watching the trees and listening to bird calls and such, but it is a fact that once I’m here, my life seems to change, everything slows down.
Here in the woods, it seems as if life is different, it’s new, it’s a different place altogether because there are so many trees surrounding me. It’s something I haven’t grown tired of or bored with.
In the near future I must remove some of these trees I love watching to thin them so the remaining trees can grow properly along with allowing more sun to shine through for my solar array.
After thinning the trees, there will always be enough left for me to sit, any place I choose, and watch the trees as they live and grow, as long as I desire.
