Deep woods off, the insect repellent. It has been the difference between sanity and insanity, out here in these woods.
The last photograph looked like it wasn’t working out to well and I was heading towards the insanity side, but I had “Deep Woods Off” on then. I think what happened is, I didn’t replenish the repellent I normally have on my body so they had a field day.
No more!
Now, I put it on when I even think about going outside, whether I go or not. There are two bottles in the photograph, one bottle is spiked with “Jungle Juice”. A REI product. Jungle Juice is 100% DEET. (DEET is not to be applied directly to your skin). I’m sure I have though, over the years. I don’t know which bottle is in, and I’m using both. I probably should have marked the bottle but I didn’t. I’m going to spike both bottles with it because these guys out these doors here, are not playing!
My eye and neck could’ve swollen because of the “Jungle Juice” spike along with the Bull Gnats.
If I didn’t have “Deep Woods Off” or some kind of insect repellent, these things would drive me insane. Thus far, I’m right at the verge, so I’m okay for right now. It’s doing okay and I’m going to continue with it while I’m in the woods. I’m going to spend another couple of days out here. Then I’m gonna take a break and take a couple days off and do no work because I’ve been going at it since I got here and I’m a little tired now. So I’m going to take a couple days off, relax and do very little work. If I do any work, it’ll be just a little bit, maybe at my brother’s place or something like that and get my other things together to bring out here to the woods, because there’s always something. So with that, “Deep Woods Off” it’s the thing to do, or any insect repellent that actually works.
