“Louise decided in high school that she was going to get married when she turned 18. The idea of a successful, happy, lasting marriage was not something she thought much about then. She thought it would be as simple as getting married and living your life with your spouse. That’s what her parents were doing. They had been married for more than 50 years. Louise explained, “I looked at the longevity of marriage by looking at how my parents were, and what they did. It was what they planned to do, stay married.”
